Courses Offered Art 8 This is a required basic introductory course. Students will examine the world of art via four different avenues: 1. art history—studying art from the very beginning to present-day work; 2. art criticism—learning how to look at art and what to look for; 3. aesthetics—discovering what art actually is and what it is not; and 4. art production—the making of art objects. Students will view and discuss art from around the world and will keep written journals of their discoveries. Students will learn to appreciate art of other times and places and gain a deeper appreciation for the people and cultures they represent.
