AVID The AVID program was established to provide students with the skills needed to be successful in college. AVID is an elective that students choose to take, with parental consent. AVID students will be concurrently enrolled in a rigorous curriculum. Assistance will be given twice a week during tutorial days by college tutors as well as by the AVID coordinators. The rest of the week will be devoted to building strategies for success in academics such as note-taking, organization, and communication skills. Guest speakers and field trips will allow the students to have a larger perspective of what college is like and how college has helped others.
