page here at Highland Jr. Whether you are a current student, a
prospective student, or an interested parent, there is something for
everyone.
Originally from Colombo, Sri Lanka, I grew up mostly
in Butte, MT. I attended college at Concordia University in St.
Paul and began teaching in 1993. I have been at Highland for the
last 14 years. I am very interested in interdisciplinary teaching and
have been on a team with teachers from other subject areas for the past
11 years. Each year the team may look different, but there is
always an exciting new way to integrate our curriculum. Here at Highland I teach 8th grade English and am one of the WEB  | | Ms. Van Dassor |
coordinators.
When I
am not teaching, I like to read, knit, watch CSI (all of them), and
play music. I also coach my daughters' & son's 6th-8th grade soccer & basketball teams and enjoy attending different events for my five
children. We are a busy family!
How to navigate my site:
In
the green boxes to the right of each page are the major sections of this
site. If your assignment requires a website, then choose
"websites" from the green box. That will bring you to a new page
with a new green box on the right. From here, choose the unit you
need the website from. This pattern can be repeated for
"assignments" and "important documents".
