Teams
All students are scheduled into teams. This means that the four core teachers (Math, English, Science, and Social Studies) share the same students. This gives a large school a small school feel because students get to know their classmates and teachers better than on a non-team schedule.
Homeroom
Students are scheduled into homeroom classes. Homeroom teachers serve as point of contact for students and families.
Administrative Looping
The same assistant principal and counselor follow students from 7th to 8th grade to provide consistency of student and family support. This helps foster strong ongoing relationships with school staff and families.
Staying Connected
Student grades and homework are posted online through the Student Portal and Parent Portal available at www.spps.org. This allows students and parents to monitor assignments and tests as well as check current grades. Teachers update their website on a regular basis.
