General Information about Science at Highland Junior High
Highland Park Junior High's science program offers several options. For Seventh Graders there is a choice between Regular Life Science and Challenge Life and Earth Science. Regular Life Science covers the Saint Paul Science Standards for Seventh Grade Life Science. Challenge Life and Earth Science covers the Saint Paul Science Standards for Seventh Grade Life Science and Eighth Grade Earth Science for air and water only.

For Eighth Graders there are also two choices. Regular Earth Science covers the Saint Paul Science Standards for Eighth Grade Earth Science. Eighth Grade Challenge Science Covers the rest of the Saint Paul State Science Standards for Earth Science (air and water are covered in Seventh Grade Challenge Science) and the Saint Paul High School Standards for Physics.

There is also an ELL Science Course which covers the Saint Paul Seventh Grade Life Science Standards.  We also offer Spanish Immersion Challenge Science to seventh graders.  Plans are in place to offer Spanish Immersion Challenge Science to both seventh and eighth graders during the 2006-2007 school year.
