Science is fun at Highland!
I love being a part of the Spanish Immersion Team because I get to work with such a wonderful and diverse mix of students and families who come together to create an extremely supportive community.

I teach:
 -  ELL Transitional Science
 -  Spanish Immersion Life Science (challenge and regular)
 -  Spanish Immersion Earth Science (challenge and regular)

My Education:
I earned my undergraduate degree in Biology and Education at Bethel University.  Later I completed a master of science degree in Science Education through Bemidji State University.  Most recently, I attended the University of St. Thomas to earn a second masters degree and add an additional teaching license in teaching ELL (English Language Learners).

My interests:
I love traveling to new places to learn about different cultures, communities and languages.  I have spent most of time abroad studying Spanish in Guatemala and visiting family Mexico.  In my spare time, I like to read, practice yoga, go hiking and camping, cross country ski, run marathons (or half-marathons), and dance salsa.  This year I will be exploring a new interest as my husband and I are expecting our first baby!
