Educational Philosophy: I believe that whenever possible curriculum should be student centered and student driven. My classroom seating arrangements will reflect this belief. Students will be expected to help me build a cooperative learning environment driven by student inquiry in which we will each take on the roles of learner and teacher interchangeably. This is a rigorous course and there will be homework every day we meet!
Course Description: This course will cover the Minnesota State Standards for reading. The curriculum for this course is a district-wide curriculum. This class is meant to provide students will skills they can use in their content area classes (social studies, science, math, etc.) Students will be expected to write throughout the year. There are seven major units in this course.
