I teach the Spanish Immersion Social Studies classes here at Highland Park Junior High. I have been doing so since 1999 and I truly love my job!

My education and background:

I majored in Spanish and Social Sciences in college with a license to teach at the secondary level. I then moved to Mexico City to live with my husband where we lived for seven years. While living there, I taught the English curriculum in the sixth grade of a bilingual school for three years. Later I began working in the business world doing a variety of things. Meanwhile, I took classes and earned a Masters degree in Business Administration. This spring I finished an advanced degree in education at the University of St. Thomas.

My interests:

If you don’t find me at school, look for me on the sidelines of one of my sons' soccer games. That’s where I try to be whenever I can get away! I also enjoying traveling, reading, visiting family in Mexico, and spending time at my family's lake home in Detroit Lakes, MN.

Soy la profesora de las clases de ciencias sociales del Programa de Inmersión al Español aquí en Highland Park Junior High. He estado enseñando aquí desde 1999. ¡Me encanta mi trabajo!

Mi educación profesional:

Me especialicé en español y ciencias sociales con una licencia para enseñar en el nivel secundaria en la universidad. Posteriormente me mudé a la Ciudad de México para vivir con mi esposo donde vivimos por siete años. Mientras vivía allá, enseñé las materias en inglés en el sexto año de una escuela bilingüe por tres años. Posteriormente empecé a trabajar en el mundo de negocios haciendo una variedad de cosas. Mientras tanto, empecé a asistir a clases para conseguir una maestría en administración de empresas (MBA). El pasado mayo terminé con un programa de grado avanzado en educación en la Universidad de St. Thomas.

Mis pasatiempos:

Si no me encuentran en la escuela búsquenme en uno de los partidos de fútbol (soccer) de mis hijos. Es donde me gusta estar durante cualquier tiempo libre que encuentro.  También me gusta viajar, leer, visitar a la familia en México, y pasar tiempo en la cabaña de mi familia en Detroit Lakes, MN.
