Hi my name is Jack Jorgensen. I’ve taught Science in St. Paul for 11
years. This is my fourth year teaching Life Science at Highland Park
Junior High with the Just Excellent and Talented Students team (JETS).
Some of my favorite lessons: Behavior experiments with mice and
earthworms, inventions, ANY dissection (worms, frogs, eyeballs,
crayfish, owl pellets, etc.), genetics, using microscopes… It’s all
good. ☺
How I run my class: Students are placed into groups of 3-4, and
expected to work together in many cases. However, individual
class-work, projects, and homework are also common. Check out my F.A.Q.
section for additional information.
My interests (aside from sharing fun, factual, and useful information
with my students): I love to hang out with my wife and three sons. We
sail, camp, travel, visit relatives, do home improvement projects, play
games, and support our local church. I’m a Boy Scout leader, and a
Youth Group leader. I enjoy bringing teens on work mission trips to
different areas of the U.S.
It is my privilege to teach students about Life Sciences. See my
syllabus to view course info, class expectations, and Minnesota State
Science Standards we will cover this year. Thanks for visiting my web page.
