| The Highland Park Junior High Media Center welcomes students and staff members every school day from 7:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. The Media Center includes over 13,000 volumes, 40 eMac computers with Internet access, four computers dedicated to the online catalog, and two large areas for class research.
To encourage reading, all students are scheduled to come to the Media Center every two weeks with their English classes for 20 minute book checkout sessions throughout the school year. The Media Center is also scheduled by teachers for class research purposes. The combination of up-to-date books and computers provides students with optimum materials for success in their research work.
Students can access the online catalog from any computer in the school by entering library.spps.org in the Internet address bar. They can access the excellent online learning resources at home or at school by entering the following address: connect.spps.org/resources.html. They should also look to the right for three new databases for Highland Park Junior High including Culturegrams, Inventors and Inventions, and Technology. These can be accessed at home or at any computer by our students. They need to get the login ID and Password from Ms. Gestner
