Athletics
The HPJH athletics department believes that sport programs should provide opportunities to develop skills, practice teamwork, and have fun, with a goal to win. While teaching athletic skills, HPJH coaches are also teaching responsibility, sportsmanship, social skills, and hard work.

Eligibility:
•    All students entering as sixth graders are eligible to participate in sports.
•    All seventh and eighth grade students are eligible for athletic participation in the fall.
•    Seventh and eighth grade students remain eligible until they accrue two Ns (determined by end-of-course grades each trimester).
•    Eighth grade students with previous Ns are eligible until they receive one N as a final course grade.
•    Student athletes who are truant from class will not be allowed to participate.
•    Student athletes must be in school by 10:30 AM in order to participate.

Students at the junior high level can participate in a sport in the high school as long as we don’t offer it. Additional Sports available at the High School include: Golf, Swimming, Boys’ Football, Boys’ Tennis, Girls’ Tennis, Dance Team, Cheerleading, and Hockey.

*Follow the steps below to sign up for the sport of your choice.

All Forms must be turned in by 2:15 pm on Monday, September 8.  If all of the following forms are not in by 2:15pm students cannot participate in that sport.
  • 2008-2009 MSHSL Athletic Eligibility Statement
  • Current Physical (3 years) – must be on file with nurse  (Fax number is 651-293-8953)
  • Eligibility Card
If student makes the team, there are two separate fees that must be paid:
  • Equipment fee is $10.00 per sport
  • District participation fee of $15.00 per sport.
  • Students receiving free or reduced lunch will not have to pay the district participation fee, however, all students must pay the $10.00 equipment fee. 
  • Make checks payable to Highland Park Junior High School.

STUDENTS DO NOT PAY UNTIL THEY MAKE THE TEAM!!!!
Return all completed forms to the box on the counter in the main office.
